Lampshade

$6,200.00

“Lampshade” is a part of my experiments with lights. I wanted to see how far light would travel through beads, and in what direction. The result was this sculpture, a geometric frame housing a single light.

The “shade” part of the sculpture is made up of warm, soft colors, fringed with ruby red glass drops. The shade is supported by a removable tapered stand with patterning that mimics wood grain. The light sits on top of the stand and is held in place with a hidden magnet.

“Lampshade” is lit by a removable LED dollhouse light. The batteries are replaceable and the light has an on/off switch at the base.

“Lampshade”, 2023. 6.5” x 5” x 5”. Seed beads, glass drops, magnet, LED lamp, monofilament.
