Deep Crab
“Deep Crab” was one of the first crabs I began, but the most recent to be completed. When I finished it I immediately fell in love with its colors but it had trouble standing on its own; the configuration of its legs couldn’t handle the weight of the fringe. “Deep Crab” languished in a drawer for several years until finally I made it a little stand of copper wire that slots neatly into its body, behind the fringe, and helps keep it upright. It still wobbles a little bit but not nearly to the same extent.
”Deep Crab”, 2025. Seed beads, bugle beads, pressed glass beads, copper wire, monofilament thread.
