Meat is meat. The way we eat meat in the USA is deeply unhealthy, not only physically but psychologically as well. We eat too much and we eat it ripped from its context, packaged in boneless slabs on little styrofoam trays. We don’t think about where it came from, the life it led, the fact that it was slaughtered for our convenience. If this is not necessarily a call for vegetarianism, it is at least a call for thoughtfulness with our consumption.
”Meat” measures about 5” across. It is deceptively heavy for beadwork because it is made of two layers, an inner and outer surface, sewn together. The outer surface is fleshy pink, showing bone fragments and the occasional bleeding tear. The inner surface is deep red, muscle, blood, and bone.
