Peacock, Emperor, Clouded Yellow Butterflies, Beadwork on Canvas
The second in my butterfly panel series, this piece showcases Peacock, Emperor, and Clouded Yellow butterflies. I chose these butterflies for their colors and their ability to fit together in a composition. All were painstakingly recreated with an eye not just for color but for texture as well; in particular the Peacock butterfly’s wings use 24K gold lined beads to get that special shimmer I was looking for.
This piece was created by first beading the 5” x 3” panel and then stitching it to the 7” x 5” canvas. The canvas has been equipped with d-rings and wire, gallery style, for ease of hanging.
This is a one of a kind work of art.
