Peppermint Pink Piñata
Growing up, there were a number of birthday piñatas in my household and I’ve always loved seeing them in shop windows. It’s probably not too hard to trace a line between the dramatic spikes and bright colors of traditional piñatas with the work I’ve produced.
This is one of only three piñata sculptures I’ve made to date and it is the most deliberately inspired by that spiky, spherical shape. It’s striped with bubblegum pink and iridescent white that made me think of peppermint candy as I was beading.
The sculpture has a short loop of beads that it can hang from. It measures about 3” across, plus another inch of hanging loop. It is a one of a kind work of art.
