This is a beaded panel featuring an image of a Palestinian Sunbird rampant against a backdrop of a rising sun, a new dawn. I drew this piece in a moment of desperation, after months and years of watching daily atrocities. I was reminded that hope is a practice, and it’s not enough to want to break down systems of oppression. We have to imagine and activate what comes next.
This piece was created by first beading the 5” x 3” panel and then stitching it to the 7” x 5” canvas. The canvas has been equipped with d-rings and wire, gallery style, for ease of hanging.
